OUR COOKING CLASSES IN THE HEART OF VENICE:

Market-to-Table: 4-Hour Morning Experience

I invite you to an experience that goes beyond cooking: It’s a journey through the authentic flavors, history, and soul of Venice.
We’ll start at the Rialto Market, the beating heart of the city for over 800 years. Together, we’ll wander through colorful stalls, breathe in the rich scents, and chat with local fishmongers who know the lagoon like no one else, while picking out the best seasonal ingredients for our class. Then, we’ll stroll through narrow alleys and quiet squares until we reach my Cooking Atelier, tucked away in a 16th-century Venetian home, far from the tourist crowds.

Once we step inside, aprons on, we get to work!
We’ll prepare a full and unforgettable menu:
•Handmade fresh pasta or gnocchi, with a sauce made from scratch: from traditional ragù to vegetarian or seafood variations.
•A main course inspired by the market: Adriatic or lagoon fish, tender meat, or flavorful seasonal vegetables.
•And finally… my signature Tiramisù, made together step by step, with a secret touch that makes it truly special.

Cooking and Connection: 3-Hour Evening Experience

Discover the most authentic, healthy, and creative side of Italian cuisine in the heart of Venice. I’ll guide you through a hands-on culinary journey where Italian tradition meets wellness, with dishes that are wholesome, inclusive, and full of flavor.
It all starts from a simple idea: cooking well using fresh, seasonal, high quality ingredients, while respecting everyone’s tastes and dietary needs.

We’ll begin with a welcome cocktail inspired by Venetian tradition, the perfect way to break the ice and toast to our experience together. Then, aprons on, we’ll cook side by side:
• Handmade fresh pasta or gnocchi, paired with a sauce made from scratch: from classic ragù to vegetarian or seafood-based options.
• A main course inspired by the market: Adriatic fish, tender meat, or flavorful seasonal vegetables.
• And to finish… my signature Tiramisù, prepared step by step together, with the secret touch that makes it truly special.

Throughout the class, we’ll sip on local wine, share stories, laughs, and practical cooking tips you’ll want to bring home with you. At the end, we’ll sit down around the table, either indoors or, weather permitting, in the private courtyard, to enjoy the delicious dishes we’ve prepared, in a warm, welcoming, and truly Venetian atmosphere.

What's included?

3 Italian recipes to prepare together from scratch:

  • Homemade pasta or gnocchi handed down through generations with its delicious sauce that change according to the seasonality of the products available on the market

  • Starter or second course of meat, fish (from the Lagoon or the Adriatic sea) or vegetables (from the venetian gardens) 

  • My original recipe of the famous Tiramisù

  • Welcome venetian aperitif (also non-alcoholic version)

  • Prosecco Doc Extra Dry, a local wine

  • A selection of soft drinks

Included only in the morning class! Let’s start the day by meeting at the historic Rialto Market* where local people from around Venice still buy fresh produce every day. So get involved and feel the vibe. There are stalls selling fresh vegetables from the green gardens of Venice and spices from the Middle East. There is also a large Fish Market inside, the Pescheria** where the local fisherman brings fresh fish just after fishing in the local Laguna and the Adriatic Sea.

* Rialto Market is closed on national holidays and on the evening classes ** The Fish Market is closed on mondays so we’ll focus more on meat and vegetables.

Ciao! My name is Filippo, a passionate Venetian chef shaped by tradition, travel, and a lifelong love for cooking. I grew up watching my parents and grandparents bring Italian recipes to life. That spark led me to train in Venice, then refine my skills in Paris, the home of haute cuisine, and work as a chef in Manchester before returning to my roots. Now, I invite you into my kitchen to experience the real taste of Venice. Join me for a hands-on cooking class where tradition, flavor, and passion come together in every dish.

Overall, this was a great experience. Filippo gave a run down of what our menu would be and led the group through the fish market to pick up a few ingredients. After, we all went to his kitchen (about a 10 min walk from the market), and it was beautiful! It was pretty spacious which was nice and had an outdoor space in the back. He provided wine (we each got about 3-4 glasses) and led everyone through making an appetizer, pasta and dessert. We loved how he got everyone involved and made it a great environment to learn and also just hangout. The food was incredible, and I'd highly recommend this to anyone!

MORNING CLASS:
We will meet in Campo Beccarie next to the entrance to the Rialto fish market. Kindly do not leave this spot, the chef will come to meet you there.

EVENING CLASS:
We will meet in Campo San Tomà, right next to the Crai supermarket. Kindly do not leave this spot, the chef will come to meet you there and walk with you to the kitchen.

All the classes end at the Atelier Cuisine Venice.

MORNING CLASS (4 hours):
From 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM

EVENING CLASS (3 hours):
From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Yes, but it is recommended for children over 7 years old. They will have as much fun as adults in preparing the recipes and they will also have non-alcoholic drinks.
