There is also a large Fish Market inside, the Pescheria** where the local fisherman brings fresh fish just after fishing in the local Laguna and the Adriatic Sea.

Know more about the Chef
I’m Filippo, a Venetian chef with a real love for cooking. From a young age I was fascinated watching my parents and grandparents cook traditional Italian recipes. This inspired me to make the decision to train to the Venetian cooking school and after obtaining my diploma I moved to Paris, where I expanded my knowledge of classical French techniques and the secrets of haute cuisine.
________
At the end of my Parisian adventure, I spent two years working as a chef in an authentic French restaurant in Manchester, England, before returning to Venice, ready for a new challenge in one of the most renowned restaurants on the lagoon, located next to the famous islands of Burano and Murano.
________
My journey has led me to offer you an authentic Venetian culinary experience. I look forward to meeting you in one of my cooking classes where I can share my enthusiasm and passion for this profession with you.

Filippo curated a masterclass of Venetian cooking. Starting from the market where he selected the best and freshest seafood, he put together a wonderful and delicious lesson on food. He was especially really good with 2 kids in our group. We made the best tiramisu I’ve eaten in Italy. Highly, highly recommend this activity for anyone looking for a truly wonderful experience in Venice!
With 15+ years in the culinary field, Chef has earned the hearts and pallets of our our group and the vendors in the fresh open-air markets! No more of the ‘ordinary’ day-to-day plate but fulfilling the dreams of his grandmother by sharing her traditional recipes with his own ideas and creating an experience you shall not soon forget. Your time with Chef is “hands on” so everyone prepares the meal, if you wish. There’s plenty of wine, food and laughter!! Don’t miss this when you visit Venice!! a very HAPPY day was had by all!
Filippo was an amazing host!! This was truly a special experience. He was very knowledgeable about the local produce and culinary arts. The market was such a great experience to see the local scene and explore the food with a guide. When we got back to the kitchen, Filippo was an expert at dividing up the tasks in such a way that it involved without being too much work. All the while enjoying some wine. I highly recommend this experience - it was truly something special.
Overall, this was a great experience. Filippo gave a run down of what our menu would be and led the group through the fish market to pick up a few ingredients. After, we all went to his kitchen (about a 10 min walk from the market), and it was beautiful! It was pretty spacious which was nice and had an outdoor space in the back. He provided wine (we each got about 3-4 glasses) and led everyone through making an appetizer, pasta and dessert. We loved how he got everyone involved and made it a great environment to learn and also just hangout. The food was incredible, and I'd highly recommend this to anyone!
Everything was more than perfect! Starting with the information Filippo provided us with the market and to the amazing house that we were located in. We were welcomed with drinks and have a lovely time in the private yard of the house. Filippo learned us important tips and tricks in the Italian kitchen and he even provided us with the recipes from the dishes that we made. He also gave us recommendations where to eat/drink in Venice. Overall definitely the best thing we did in Venice! We will definitely remember it for a long time and recommend Filippo’s cooking class for everyone who wants to try something new and learn a little bit more about food!
Filippo's class was amazing and being able to learn how to make classic Italian dishes from a native Venetian and professional chef was wonderful. He engages with each of his guests and lets everyone get hands on with the cooking process. at the end of the class we all agreed this food was the best food we ate in Venice and now I am looking forward to recreating it once I get home. Filippo is also very warm and friendly and makes you feel completely at home in his kitchen! Definitely worth the cost and could not recommend this experience more.
I booked this last minute for my boyfriend's birthday, and we have absolutely no regrets! Filippo was fantastic, showing us around the fresh market and telling us about all the uses of various ingredients. The class itself was a good balance of instruction/teaching and hands on work. He was very welcoming and patient, had great stories and experiences to share, and sent us away with unforgettable lessons! I can't recommend this class enough, the whole experience from start to finish is priceless.
This experience was one of our favorite highlights of our visit to Italy! We first got to shop together at an open market stand and deli where the chef taught us how to choose the best items for the dishes we were making. As we walked together, he also shared some history of the area and recommended his favorite restaurants in Venice. Everyone got a chance to help make all the courses and everything tasted so amazing and fresh! Filippo was also very personable, funny and helpful, as he provided his best recommendations for flour, olive oil brands, etc. He walked us through every step of the recipe as we each had a turn helping to make fresh Caprese salad, fresh pasta, pistachio pesto sauce and tiramisu. It was the best meal we had on our trip!!
My wife and I had an amazing experience in this cooking class. He was very knowledgeable about the products in the local market. He had a lot of knowledge on how and why to cook and create specific dishes. He made the whole experience fun and enjoyable for our entire group by having us participate a lot in the cooking process. I absolutely loved that he makes something different for every class! I would highly recommend this class for those who enjoy cooking and would like to experience making some Italian dishes.
If you are going to Venice taking the cooking class should be t the very top of your lot of things to do! My husband and I spent 9 days in Italy and visited 3 different cities during our stay. This cooking class was, hands down, our favorite Italian experience. Shopping the market, getting to be in the home of a native Venetian, and learning to cook amazing Italian food was the experience of a lifetime and one we would do again in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and book this now!
It was a wonderful experience and the small group size meant that a solo traveller like myself felt included with the groups of friends that had booked! Filippo was a fantastic host and made sure everyone got involved. I can’t wait to make this again for my friends and family when I get home!
